A woman in 厦门 (Xiamen, China) spent 200,000 yuan to find someone to fake a marriage with her in order to obtain an additional 50 square meters of housing during a relocation. As agreed, they divorced after the relocation, but the woman refused to pay the remaining 100,000 yuan. The man sued her, and the court ruled that their agreement was invalid. The man was ordered to return 50,000 yuan of the 100,000 yuan he had already received.
