A professional whistleblower in 天津 (Tianjin, China) was taking pictures of illegally parked vehicles by the roadside when he was approached by the person he had reported. The person asked, “How much do you think one of your reports is worth? If you’re short of money, just let me know and I’ll transfer some to you. If you’re asking for 5 yuan and I give you 200 yuan, that’s considered extortion.”
