A female student in 西安 (Xi’an, China) developed an infection after digging her nose, resulting in a high fever of 40 degrees and severe facial swelling and pain. She was eventually diagnosed with facial cellulitis, a condition that can be life-threatening if severe. Therefore, one should not pick their nose casually.
