In the scenic area of Lijiang, Yunnan Province, China, it has been reported that the white yak working there can earn an annual income of 6 million yuan. The scenic area has denied this and stated that these white yaks work on a rotating schedule, with one day of work followed by one day of rest, which is arguably better treatment than what humans receive.
