A popular Chinese live-streamer, known as “Tang Seng” (a monk from the classic novel “Journey to the West”), died suddenly, with his father claiming that he did not earn much money from his online fame. An investigation revealed that nearly 60% of full-time live-streamers in China work over 6 hours a day, and 80% of them earn less than 8,000 yuan (approximately $1,100 USD) per month.
