A man from Jieyang, Guangdong Province, China secretly gave his mistress 1 million yuan without his wife’s knowledge. After the wife found out, she demanded the return of their jointly owned property. The court ruled in the first trial that the mistress should return 700,000 yuan. The mistress appealed, and the second trial ruled that she should return 958,000 yuan plus interest.
