A man from Chengdu, China, named Xiao, used a hoe to kill his uncle and aunt, but was initially sentenced to death with a two-year reprieve due to his voluntary surrender, lack of prior criminal record, and compensation of 180,000 yuan. However, the prosecution appealed, arguing that the crime was premeditated and the method was cruel, and thus the sentence was changed to death penalty to be carried out immediately.
